After nine years as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) at The ÄôСÓêÊÓƵ3·Ö25Ãë of Queensland, Professor Joanne Wright has accepted a position as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Education) at the ÄôСÓêÊÓƵ3·Ö25Ãë of Sydney.
Professor Wright has made an enormous contribution during her time at UQ, with her commitment to high quality teaching and learning.
Her achievements include developing UQ’s inaugural student strategy aimed at student success and retention, promoting a culture of excellence across the student experience and playing a leading role in the ÄôСÓêÊÓƵ3·Ö25Ãë’s institutional response to COVID-19.
Prior to UQ, Professor Wright held senior academic positions at the ÄôСÓêÊÓƵ3·Ö25Ãë of South Australia and ÄôСÓêÊÓƵ3·Ö25Ãë of Sussex, as well as teaching and research roles at several UK and Australian universities.
Professor Wright’s final day at UQ will be April 14, with Professor Doune Macdonald to be Acting DVC(A) from that date.
